Based in the heart of Southampton’s vibrant city centre, Solent University has grown to become one of the country’s leading new universities. With a strong track record of innovation and creativity and an excellent reputation, Solent Law School is based in the impressive Spark Building with excellent facilities including the recently opened Solent Courtroom.

Solent University is ranked as a Triple Gold TEF institution and Solent Law School is ranked 5th in the Guardian Best University Guide for Law.

The successful candidate will not only have a passion and enthusiasm for Law but also be able to work with the Law team to further develop its teaching excellence and the reputation of the Solent Law School. The role will include teaching at foundation and undergraduate levels, and research will be encouraged.

Candidates with particular interest and expertise in Private Client, Wills and Probate, Legal Regulation and Compliance, Media and Entertainment Law, and Cyber law and Artificial Intelligence should apply, although other subject experience will be considered.

Creativity is encouraged within the School and candidates who could offer a skill or expertise which would benefit the School and student body (for instance, an ability to run a co-curricular activity, a professional legal practice skillset which could inform our postgraduate provision or an evidenced capability to strengthen the student experience in a particular way) are invited to foreground this as part of their application.

To apply you must have a postgraduate degree in Law and ideally a Phd (or nearing completion) / or professional experience. You must also have a teaching qualification at HE, or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or be willing to undertake such qualifications.
