The Disability Adviser provides expert advice, guidance and signposting for disabled applicants and students through their whole journey in Higher Education; from those thinking of applying to study at University Open days, applicants preparing to join us, during their course and as they prepare to leave.

Disability Advisers discuss and create Support Plans with students, recommending and advising on possible reasonable adjustments and the university and for additional support processes such as Disabled Students’ Allowance. As a Disability Adviser you will lead, manage and oversee complex casework alongside student appointments and responding to day-to-day queries, reporting to Disability Advice Team Leaders. Under instruction from Disability Advice Team Leaders, you will also carry out proactive interventions and communications to support disabled students, including delivering events, presentations, group workshops and course talks.

Disability Advisers support students with all disabilities including mobility, sensory, specific learning difficulties and who are neurodivergent. We are looking for an individual with experience and knowledge of disabled students’ needs in an education setting, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and an understanding of the FE/HE environment. The role requires you to work independently and within a team, meeting competing demands.

Solent University offers an excellent benefits package. More Information.
