Senior Student Recruitment Officer (Regional)

The role will be regionally based in the recruitment 'zone' of North Hampshire, Oxford, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, and Essex (these regions may change over time, as directed by University management). As such the role would suit a candidate based in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, or Berkshire. The postholder will be expected to spend one day a fortnight at the East Park Terrace Campus in Southampton.

The Senior Student Recruitment Officer (Regional) will be responsible for the successful delivery of student recruitment activities within their respective region. They will need to be a highly motivated, dynamic individual with the ability to deliver an effective student recruitment strategy with a focus on key recruitment targets, and to raise the profile, brand and reputation of the University in that region. They will work with key stakeholders including careers advisors, teachers, and senior leaders to promote the University’s offer to schools, colleges, and students, and to attend targeted recruitment events in their region, and across the UK. This is a full-time permanent role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Student Recruitment team at Solent University. The successful candidate will provide a pivotal role in ensuring the University meets its targets regarding high quality student recruitment, ensuring the financial sustainability of the University. 

The postholder will also be required to travel substantially throughout the UK attending large-scale recruitment events such as UCAS Discovery, UK University Search, and others. As such a full UK drivers licence is required. 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • To create and deliver engaging workshops and talks to inform and educate those thinking of attending higher education
  • To manage relationships with key contacts and stakeholders at target FE schools and colleges
  • To represent the University at key events throughout the cycle
  • To attend a variety of on-campus recruitment events, including open days, applicant experience days, and clearing
  • Manage a small budget allocation to support key events within your zone
  • Utilise the University's CRM platform to ensure that all leads are captured successfully and moved along the prospect/ applicant pipeline
  • With the help of your manager, create and report on a zonal recruitment strategy to ensure all activity meets CPA and ROI expectations
  • To be responsible for the drafting and sending of a monthly newsletter to school and college stakeholders
  • To maintain the schools and colleges liaison section of the website
  • In time to take ownership over a limited zonal expansion into the East and West Midlands
